The Association of Migratory Water Hunters informs all enthusiasts that thanks to satellite technology, the coot species will also be monitored.
This is a complex project, begun on an experimental basis due to a lack of scientific literature and limited international experience in the use of satellite technology for this particularly elusive species, accustomed to hiding in reed beds.
Such habits could be capable of disrupting satellite technology in relation to the recharging of the solar cells placed on the bird's back, which has among its habits that of going underwater and could create problems with no data transmission.
However, this first year of studies undertaken will certainly help to better understand certain possible limitations but in the meantime it is providing the first information on two migrating coots.
