The Tuscany Region has modified some parts of the Fox Control Plan, receiving a positive evaluation from the Tuscan Hunters' Confederation.
The Region intervened on specific cases:
Regarding dogs used for control activities, those used do not necessarily need to be ENCI-certified or have a certificate of registration in the ENCI studbooks, but also dogs "trained as selective fox dogs." Marco Salvadori, President of Federcaccia Toscana, stated that this correction had been strongly requested. This decision by the Tuscany Region was considered an important and welcome step forward!
But according to CCT, more needs to be done in control plans for foxes, ravens, doves, etc. Currently, there are limitations that block or reduce control interventions and related management actions, to the detriment of galliformes and lagomorphs.
The Tuscan Hunters' Confederation believes it is necessary to clarify and overcome some of the less than clear rigidities expressed by ISPRA, which had already been highlighted by numerous Tuscan ATCs.
