Investigations by Striscia la Notizia are bringing to light widespread discontent among the association's fringe members with respect to the national governing bodies.
The latest episode of Striscia la Notizia highlights the flaws that some in ENPA are complaining about. The complaints come from some peripheral sections that are critical of the imposed regime. They claim that if you don't vote for them at the assemblies, you risk being kicked out.
In his investigation, Stoppa met with the president of the Piacenza chapter, Cristina Balteri, who accused him of rule violations, such as falsifying reports, inappropriate behavior by animal handlers, and dogs not treated according to the association's standards. His reports resulted in his dismissal and the Piacenza chapter being placed under special administration.
The dogs, he said, were not even where they were supposed to be and they were asked to tell fabricated stories to get the dogs transferred to specific facilities.
In short, Enpa, the sworn enemy of hunting and hunters, also has its skeletons in the closet.
