The German Federal Government has confirmed the necessity of hunting, and that movement restrictions will not apply to hunters.
Hunting, the German government emphasized, must be conducted with all necessary precautions to contain the infection, but since it is very important to protect against the damage caused by wildlife and African swine fever, it should not be restricted.
The competent ministries, therefore, in compliance with the safety regulations dictated by the authorities, continue hunting activity throughout the country.
Massimo Buconi, National President of Federcaccia, commented, "I don't think I'll receive a letter like that. However, I expect that, in a secular manner and without giving a nod to the sirens of anti-hunting animal rights activists, which, as we know, have already begun to sing, our government will demonstrate the same pragmatism and consideration with its actions. We will monitor this closely."
