The vegan diet in Italy is losing followers, and in 2018, over a million Italians returned to eating meat after a more or less long vegan diet.
Last year, 3% of Italians ate exclusively plant-based foods, while in 2018, the figure dropped below 1%. This was announced by Coldiretti on the occasion of National Steak Day.
Coldiretti often warns that fake news, often accepted as true by young people, influences eating habits. On the other hand, there are absolutely no studies showing any harmful effects from a diet that includes adequate amounts of meat.
Certainly, in this context of a return to meat, there is also a consolidation of the consumption of game meat, rightly considered among the most valuable because it comes from a natural diet and from healthy animals.
