According to a press release from the AGI news agency, the Minister of Agricultural Policies, Gian Marco Centinaio, also addressed the issue of the culling of bears and wolves, following the approval of the bill by the Trento Provincial Council.
"In agriculture, there's a problem with bears, wolves, coypu, ungulates, wild boars, and cormorants. We're not saying they should be culls, we're just saying we need to get the situation under control to prevent it from becoming more than just an agricultural problem."
"There are areas of Italy where wolves and bears live right next to homes," Centinaio declared. "I want to prevent an agricultural problem from becoming a public order problem."
