Hunting in reserves in Sardinia was little considered until a few years ago, because if one had to leave our peninsula to hunt, it was considered preferable to go to Eastern European countries where game was abundant, the bags were satisfying, and the hunt took place in natural paradises.
Today some things have changed.
For dog lovers, especially those who chase the wild partridge, perhaps they are chasing a myth and those countries where the strains are still decidedly wild have limited the collections.
But the hunter's ethics have also changed in parallel , now looking more at the satisfaction of hunting challenging game than at the bag, which challenging game never grants you.
But for many, their wallets have also changed, a little emptier than a few years ago.

Sardinia, with its hunting reserves, offers hunting for a unique species found only here: the Sardinian partridge . In its Mediterranean scrub habitat, it is an extremely competitive game bird for any hunting dog. A hunting experience in a reserve chasing Sardinian partridges is as rewarding as any hunting experience with similar game, with the added advantage that such a hunting trip costs much less than traveling to an Eastern European country.
Finally, not everyone knows that in Sardinia's hunting reserves, there is no hunting silence for sedentary game , and it can even be hunted on Tuesdays and Fridays . This is no small feat for those who, on a short vacation, want to dedicate three consecutive days to hunting Sardinian partridge.
Precisely for this reason, the PEDRA and NAE hunting reserve was established: 1.200 hectares of Mediterranean scrub in Gallura. While hunting for "sarda" (a type of woodcock), you might find a hare or catch a woodcock, which can also be hunted (except Tuesdays and Fridays).
In addition, wood pigeons and thrushes provide a complete hunting experience. And if you have even more ambitions, the swift Sardinian wild boar is the other huntable species present in the reserve.
One last detail of no small importance, especially for your helpers: hunting in rocky environments sometimes brings the unpleasant surprise of encounters with dangerous snakes, while in Sardinia, poisonous snakes are completely absent.
Therefore, Sardinia is not only beaches and a fabulous sea, but it is also the most intriguing thing for the true hunter.
