The Umbria Regional Council will likely approve the new Regional Wildlife Plan on July 29th. This could pave the way for the pre-opening.
Following much pressure from the hunting community, the Umbria Regional Council will return to the Wildlife Hunting Plan. The regional technical offices have approved the Wildlife Hunting Plan adopted by the Regional Council, and approval by the council could come during the July 29th session.
According to Guasticchi, Vice President of the Legislative Assembly, the approval is a fair and coherent decision. Finally, with a courageous move by the Regional Council, a document has been released that will allow the pre-opening of the hunting season to be included in the calendar, something many Umbrian hunters have been hoping for.
In Umbria, there are approximately 28 hunters who represent an important positive driver for our regional economy: hunters who respect the environment and who, in turn, must be respected.
Guasticchi concluded by stating that hunting and fishing are in our Umbrian DNA and that thousands of families in our region include practitioners of these disciplines.
We also applaud the efforts of Emanuele Fiorini (Mixed Group), who worked hard to unblock the situation.
