The United Kingdom is a truly unique country, where hunting is truly a cult and its benefits are deeply appreciated. Over 14.000 young people are learning how to cook game.
The initiative is by Taste of Game and Game Charger Project. The project, which began in 2017, is currently in full swing, and the goal is to teach 60.000 young students the art of game cooking by 2020.
This focus on game meat is also in line with the expanding economy. Game meat sales in the United Kingdom have increased for the fifth consecutive year, with a related value of approximately €150 million. Given this trend, it is therefore essential to train those who will be able to valorize this meat in the future.
The project also helped train 70 teachers
Annette Woolcock, head of Taste of Game, says the number of pheasants requested by schools and pupils has increased substantially, with many students now using game meat as part of their secondary school exams.
Future assessments and projections indicate a further increase in consumption and the possibility of easily reaching 60.000 trained young people.
