In recent years, the world of dynamic shooting has seen steady growth, pushing manufacturers to develop increasingly specialized and high-performance platforms. Disciplines like Practical Shotgun (PSC) require guns capable of ensuring speed, reliability, recoil control, and excellent ergonomics—features that directly impact the shooter's performance during each exercise.
It is precisely in this context that the DERYA MAX 12 gauge, a semi-automatic shotgun that interprets the concept of a sporting shotgun in a modern key. Far from being a simple tactical semi-automatic, the DERYA MAX was developed as a real platform dedicated to dynamic shooting, in which each component has been designed to improve speed of use, accuracy in target changes and management of the weapon during fire sequences.
The result is an extremely advanced project that combines the power of the 12 gauge with ergonomics clearly inspired by the most modern sporting platforms, offering the shooter a high level of control and a wide range of customization options.
A platform developed for dynamic sport shooting
Analyzing the DERYA MAX immediately reveals the design philosophy that guided the Turkish company's engineers. The goal was not simply to create a reliable semi-automatic rifle, but to build a platform capable of satisfying the needs of enthusiasts. PSC – Practical Shotgun, a discipline in which every tenth of a second can determine the final result.
To achieve this goal, numerous technical solutions have been adopted that aim to improve the speed of handling the weapon, reduce reload times, contain muzzle flip and make the rifle easily configurable according to the shooter's preferences.
This setting makes the DERYA MAX is also particularly interesting for those who practice other dynamic disciplines or want a modern semi-automatic characterized by a marked modularity.
Modern design and numerous aesthetic variations
One of the aspects that immediately strikes you when observing the DERYA MAX is its contemporary design, characterized by taut lines, well-balanced volumes and a clear inspiration from the most advanced tactical-sports platforms.
DERYA proposes the MAX in numerous color variations, allowing each shooter to choose the aesthetic configuration that best reflects their style or competitive needs. This customization option represents an added value that is particularly appreciated in the world of sport shooting, where even aesthetics contribute to making one's equipment unique.
The different finishes do not, of course, alter the mechanical characteristics of the weapon, but rather allow you to configure a rifle capable of standing out both on the shooting range and during competitions.
Ergonomics as a central element of the project
In dynamic shooting every movement must be quick, natural and repeatable. For this reason the DERYA MAX was designed around a particularly advanced ergonomics, in which the handle, controls and control organs work together to minimize manipulation times.
The distribution of the masses and the general setting of the weapon favor immediate shouldering and rapid realignment on the target after each shot , fundamental characteristics during exercises with multiple targets or in high-speed shooting sequences.
The entire architecture of the DERYA MAX conveys the feeling of a project developed around the shooter, rather than a traditional hunting rifle adapted for sporting use.
Much more than just a 12 gauge semi-automatic
Reduce the DERYA MAX to the definition of "tactical rifle" would be limiting. This model was in fact born as a highly specialized platform, designed to offer the sports shooter concrete tools to improve speed, control and accuracy when shooting.
The presence of numerous adjustable components and dedicated technical solutions confirms a competition-oriented design, in which every detail has been studied to increase the overall performance of the weapon.
Buffer System: recoil control and quicker double shots
In Practical Shotgun The speed of execution does not depend exclusively on the speed of the shooter, but also on the ability of the weapon to quickly return to the line after each shot. For this reason the DERYA MAX is equipped with a modern Buffer System, designed to absorb part of the energy generated by recoil and make the rifle's behavior more progressive and controllable.
During rapid-fire sequences, the system helps limit weapon sway, allowing the shooter to realign the sights on the next target more quickly . The benefit concerns not only shooting comfort, but above all the ability to maintain high rates of fire with greater accuracy.
This solution represents one of the elements that distinguish the DERYA MAX from traditional semi-automatic hunting guns, highlighting its purely sporting vocation.
5 and 10-round removable magazines
One of the aspects that most characterise the DERYA MAX is the adoption of removable magazines, a solution that has now become essential in dynamic disciplines.
The rifle is available with 5 and 10-round magazines , allowing the shooter to choose the most suitable configuration based on the competition rules or the type of training.
Compared to traditional tubular magazines, the removable magazine allows for extremely rapid reloads, significantly reducing downtime during exercises and offering easier weapon management even in the most demanding situations.
For those who practice PSC this represents one of the main operational advantages of the platform DERYA MAX.
Shutter release lever: speed and control
Each command of the DERYA MAX has been designed to be easily accessible without modifying the main handle.
The presence of the bolt release lever allows the rifle to be quickly returned to operational conditions, speeding up reloading operations and helping to reduce execution times during competitions.
It's a detail that, when observed individually, might seem secondary, but in dynamic shooting it takes on a decisive importance, especially when each movement is repeated hundreds of times during training and competitions.
Fully ambidextrous controls
One of the strong points of DERYA MAX is represented by the configuration completely ambidextrous.
The main control elements have been designed to be used by both right- and left-handed shooters, or to allow rapid manipulation with both hands during the various phases of the exercise.
This feature improves operational fluidity and allows each user to develop the shooting technique best suited to their style, without being constrained by a traditional configuration.
Pistol grip: maximum control during rapid fire
Il DERYA MAX adopts a modern pistol grip, a solution now consolidated in the most advanced sports platforms.
Compared to traditional hunting rifle grips, this configuration provides more direct control of the weapon , improving stability during recoil and allowing for quicker movements when changing direction between targets.
The ergonomics of the handle also allows you to always maintain a firm and natural grip even during the most intense shooting sequences.
Flip-up sights: versatility in weapon configuration
Il DERYA MAX is equipped with foldable sights, a solution particularly appreciated by dynamic shooting enthusiasts.
When using red dot optics or other aiming systems, the sights can be easily lowered, leaving the line of sight completely clear. If necessary, they can be quickly reset without any special intervention.
This versatility allows the rifle to be adapted to different competitive needs while always maintaining a high level of practicality of use.
Quick disassembly of the forend: simple and immediate maintenance
One of the lesser known, but extremely interesting aspects of the DERYA MAX, it's about theinnovative forend disassembly system.
The procedure is particularly simple and quick, allowing rapid access to the main components of the weapon for cleaning and ordinary maintenance operations.
For those who frequently use the rifle in training or competitions, this solution represents a concrete advantage, reducing the time required for maintenance and facilitating periodic checks of the mechanics.
Each command is designed to improve the shooter's performance
Analyzing the DERYA MAX clearly shows how every detail has been designed with a specific objective: increase speed, ergonomics and control when shooting.
The Buffer System, removable magazines, ambidextrous controls, bolt release lever, pistol grip, foldable sights and practical forend disassembly system are not simple accessory features, but elements that work together to make the rifle extremely competitive in dynamic disciplines.
Adjustable AR15-style stock: a platform that adapts to the shooter
One of the elements that most characterise the DERYA MAX it's the modern AR15/Mil-Spec type stock, a solution that has now become a point of reference in platforms dedicated to dynamic shooting.
The stock is adjustable to eight different positions and features an effective locking system that eliminates unwanted play during use. This adjustment allows the length of the gun to be perfectly adapted to the shooter's build, clothing, and scope configuration.
A correct shooting position allows you to improve control of the weapon, speed up target acquisition and reduce the time needed to immediately find the aiming line after each shot.
Adjustable butt plate: even more advanced ergonomics
DERYA he also paid particular attention to the point of contact between the weapon and the shooter's shoulder.
The adjustable buttstock allows not only the usual dimensional adjustments, but also the adjustment of the rotation angle , allowing you to further customize the support on the shoulder.
This adjustment possibility promotes a more uniform distribution of recoil, improves shoulder stability and makes the gun swing more natural during rapid-fire sequences, an aspect particularly appreciated by Practical Shotgun competitors.
Muzzle brake with 45° inclined chambers: muzzle flip control
Among the most interesting technical features of the DERYA MAX deserves special attention muzzle brake, designed with rooms inclined at 45 degrees.
This solution was not adopted for aesthetic reasons, but responds to a specific functional objective: to limit muzzle detection during firing.
By directing part of the combustion gases in a precise direction, the muzzle brake helps to counteract the muzzle flip of the gun , keeping the rifle more stable during the firing cycle.
The practical advantage is especially evident in quick series of shots: the shooter is able to keep the target in the field of vision, reducing the movements needed to realign the sights and thus improving the overall speed of the action.
