In record time, the Lombardy Region approved provisions that integrate the hunting calendar and comply with ISPRA's advice.
As Councilor Rolfi stated, hunting will resume on Saturday for dog training and for some species of hides. All other hunting activities will resume on October 2nd, and this new resolution will reinstate hunting throughout the region.
Unfortunately, this measure became necessary following the single-judge decision of the Lombardy Regional Administrative Court, an action that occurred without discussion or debate.
The approved document is valid until October 7th, after which, following the ruling on the calendar, further measures will be decided to ensure the regularity of the hunting season in the Lombardy Region.
In summary, the new regional provision provides:
- From September 30, 2021, stalking is possible for wood pigeon, hooded and black crow, magpie, jay, and blackbird.
- From 30 September 2021 the possibility of dog training in ATCs and in some CAs will resume
- From 2 October 2021 the hunting season for small sedentary fauna resumes, specifically for pheasant, grey partridge, red partridge, hare, wild rabbit, minihare and fox in a wandering form
- From 2 October 2021, it will also be possible to hunt song thrush and redwing, woodcock, ducks and snipe, both from a hide and in a wandering form.
Wild boar hunting in all permitted forms had not received restrictions from the TAR provision
Hunting for deer, roe deer, chamois, and mouflon continues throughout the region.
