Not all Italian hunters know Chapuis Armes, for the simple fact that we are so well endowed with excellent artisan producers that we do not look around, but the French company that is about to be marketed by Franchi It truly has important contents in its weapons worthy of our appreciation.
July 22nd Urbino, Franchi brought together the trade press with the aim of telling Italian hunters, through the media, about an operation that has been underway for some time, starting with the acquisition of Beretta Chapuis Armes Holding and the assignment of product marketing to the Urbino-based company. The outline of Chapuis Armes' new direction was already known at the IWA in Nuremberg, but now the situation is "hot," just like this July.
Chapuis, was acquired as said by Beretta Holding, which had the foresight to leave the technical and managerial reins to the brothers David and Vincent Chapuis, who work so well in the production of their guns that their products are highly appreciated by French hunters who, as is well known, have a wealth of history and experience to spare, both in the hunting use of smoothbore and rifled barrels.
This is precisely the starting point from which it seems obvious to begin introducing Chapuis Armes to Italian hunters: to briefly describe the company and its high-level expertise in the production of smoothbore and rifled guns. Chapuis is a company whose headquarters are already a guarantee of trust for many Italian hunters who for decades have praised semi-automatic barrels named S. Etienne. This well-known name represents a local area—our own Valtrompia—the cradle of the finest French arquebusier. Since the early post-war years, the company has assumed a family-run structure and focused on artisanal production, seeking continuous growth in professionalism and product quality, using French hunters, notoriously highly skilled and demanding, as its testing ground. Over sixty years later, the entire philosophy of an excellent artisanal company has remained intact, with the addition of constant updating in production efficiency and firearm quality.

Today, Chapuis Armes employs 54 people, divided between the semi-artisanal and artisanal stages of the manufacturing process. Despite the company's modern equipment, some still build custom-made weapons from the finest raw materials, even at the customer's request.
Chapuis Armes' production philosophy has always remained that of creating an excellent product and customer satisfaction, and to pursue this goal, over time it has expanded its range of weapons, starting with the smoothbore break-action guns that characterised the company's early days.
Current production focuses on the company's longstanding tradition of producing smooth-bore break-action rifles with side-by-side and over-and-under barrels, replicated with express rifles of the highest technical standard. For several years, Chapuis has also focused on producing a highly technical straight-pull rifle, covered by numerous patents. We will introduce these guns in an informative tour, introducing you to the world of Chapuis. The company also owns the Manurhin brand, one of the most highly regarded in the world of revolvers.

Since 2019 Chapuis has been in Beretta Holding, ea Franchi Led by Bruno Beccaria, like other sister companies around the world, the company has been assigned the task of marketing these beautiful weapons in Italy. This is a prestigious task, thanks to the efficient sales network of Franchi, which will try to make the technical peculiarities of these weapons, already so highly appreciated in France, better known and appreciated.
