An agreement has been finalized regarding operational guidelines for strengthening surveillance and reducing the risk of certain animal diseases. This agreement also includes ASF.
Among the various points of the agreement, particular attention was given to African Swine Fever and Avian Influenza, with the definition of prevention actions and timely detection of any infections that may require particular attention to protect both livestock farms and wild fauna.
Specific prevention measures have been identified for African Swine Fever, which involve hunters in actively monitoring and immediately reporting any cases, even suspected, in wild boar.
Since it is necessary to provide hunters in the Tuscan region with the appropriate information, CCT is working to organize information meetings to update knowledge on the actual risks.
The expertise acquired by hunters and Volunteer Hunting Guards can only be of great use to the community and the institutions themselves.
